You can see the second story platform for the cow food -- beneath that is a pen for the cow and her new calf to stay.
Earlier, I wrote about the blessings bestowed upon the Dorothy Children’s Home during a January visit — I’m excited to share with you about one more. During that visit, some missionaries stayed at the home and spent time with the children. One of the missionaries, Brian, was so moved that he called his wife, Cynthia, back in the states and expressed an urgent desire to purchase a cow for the children here.
Now, many people think: a Cow? What in the world are a children going to do with a cow?
Well, my friends, having livestock in a developing country is a big deal. One cow can produce up to four gallons of milk a day. FOUR GALLONS! That’ll be enough to provide rich nourishment to the children of the Dorothy Children’s Home. If there’s any extra, they can sell it for money and help supply the home with clothes, school supplies, and other food for these growing children. Furthermore, each calf that the cow births can be sold for money to further assist the home and its children. All the while teaching these children about the importance of responsibility by helping take care of the cow.

This cow was donated to the Dorothy Children's Home and as it was being purchased, it delivered a calf! What a blessing to provide milk for the children!
Back to our friends Brian and Cynthia, over the phone they agreed to purchase a cow for the Dorothy Children’s Home. What a blessing! What a wonderful gift!
But, God wasn’t just blessing us with a cow. While Mr. Mbaabu was paying for the cow, it went into labor and gave us a calf, as well! Now we have a cow that’ll produce milk instantly for both the calf and the children! Praise God!
Will you, like Brian and Cynthia, support us in providing a safe home for these children? Please consider supporting World Shalom Quest today!
